The high number of transactions for the National Railways Office

For the year 2019, the National Railways Bureau achieved a total turnover of 3.764 billion dirhams, an increase of 9.3 percent compared to 2018.

In a report on its annual results for 2019, the office stated that the number of passenger transactions increased to 1.664 billion dirhams, an increase of 35.3 percent compared to 2018, while the number of merchandise transactions reached 1.790 billion dirhams, a decrease of 4.5 percent.

The office pointed out that the exploitation results amounted to minus 1.03 billion dirhams, adding that this result is positive without affecting the consumption fees related to operating infrastructure projects.

The report recorded that the operational surplus amounted to 929 million dirhams, an increase of 10.5 percent compared to 2028, while the added value amounted to 2.079 billion dirhams, an increase of 4.9 percent, indicating that these two indicators achieved a positive development in line with expectations .

With regard to passenger activity, the National Railways Bureau affirmed that the high-speed train "Al Buraq" has achieved great success, noting that the statistics on customer satisfaction are reassuring, and that demand is constantly increasing.

The office recorded that under the slogan of operational excellence, the year 2019 was rich and intense in terms of activities and events, adding that the matter is related to the operation of structural projects that were completed in 2018, especially the high-speed train "Al Buraq" between Tangier and Casablanca, and the commutation of the line between Casablanca And Marrakesh, increasing the energy and durability of the Kénitra-Casablanca line, as well as "new generation" stations.

Among the activities that distinguished last year, the communication notes, the signing of strategic agreements, including the Memorandum of Understanding between the state and the National Railways Office for the period 2019-2025, the industrial partnership agreement between the National Railways Office and the Sheriff's Office of phosphates for the same period, and the signing of a partnership between the National Railways Office And the honorable office of phosphate and the Hassan II Fund for Economic and Social Development, which aims to establish a national hotel pole in Morocco.
